We took this Portable Solar Car Battery and put it inside the Firebird and put it on the dashboard. Then we plugged it into the cigarette lighter to charge up the battery. And it worked! I guess with older cars the cigarette lighter runs right to the battery and visa-versa (and probably with newer cars too). I love that! Especially since he can also take it with him in our old Jeep too. With older cars you never know what to expect! So being able to charge your car when you are out in the middle of no-where is priceless. He just has to keep a charge on the solar panel. And that's the easy part.
